What inspired you to pursue a career in real estate?

I was exposed to real estate early, but my perspective was shaped by traveling to more than 40 countries and living overseas from a young age. Seeing how different cities and communities function made it clear to me that the built environment is never accidental. It reflects planning decisions, zoning, culture, and geopolitics, which ultimately led me to pursue a Master’s in Urban Planning and a career in real estate.

Which personal values guide your client interactions during stressful negotiations?

Clarity and honesty guide everything I do. When emotions run high, my job is to slow things down, tell clients the truth even when it’s uncomfortable, and keep decisions grounded in facts over emotions. Stress usually comes from uncertainty, so I focus on helping clients understand their options, the risks involved, and what matters most to them in the long term. My role is not to create pressure, but to bring perspective and keep the process moving forward in a way clients can stand behind when the deal is done.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned working in Nashville real estate?

It’s about chess, not checkers. In Nashville, success comes from thinking beyond price and paying attention to positioning, design, zoning constraints, and exit options.

How do you see Nashville’s real estate evolving over the next five years?

Nashville’s real estate will be shaped less by market demand and more by policy decisions around zoning, land use, and development approvals. Like it or not, the policymakers’ choices will determine whether the city becomes more accessible or increasingly exclusive.
